Faith Comes By Hearing...

The Masters of the Game

"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form." (Colossians 2:8-9) The word philosophy comes from a Greek word that means "lover of wisdom". Unfortunately, the 21st century Christian has become more of a philosopher than a believer in the power of the Lord Jesus Christ opting to sit around "philosophying" all day while souls perish. The goal of the Bible is not to make us astute biblical philosophers equipped to convince others to join our little Christian club as many are being taught to do. What shocks most Christians is the fact that the Christian life focuses on becoming a vessel or a conduit that has been renovated to allow the power of God to flow through us. This is not about "knowing", it's about "being". Wouldn't it be sad to find out that you only know about Christ, but He doesn't know you at all? Christ does not live in your head, He manifests through a transformed heart.
